I was curious as to whether there was a lot of PCL items at the National. I know Steve scored a Chance Zeenut from Mark M. that was mentioned in another thread, however, what else was there? |

Actually there was quite a bit of PCL at the National. A Lot of 17 e99's got snapped up real early. Dan snagged four beautiful e100 type II cards. Tonyetrade had a large Lot, 35 or so, d311's that were unsold last I saw. Very few Zeenuts. The Mastro Auction had complete Mono, e99 and e100 sets. |

I saw some PCL stuff....about what you would expect. And it was another board member who picked up the 4 other E100 type 2's....but I was glad to snag this one...and it finishes my color variations of type 2's, since they come in green or orange....regards |

Patrick- The 35 D311s which didn't sell were offered as a lot only. There were about 27 SGC 10s (some quite damaged) and about 8 SGC 20s. The asking price worked out to about $600 a card. Three D311s in SGC 30 sold for about $600 each in other transactions. I have to disagree with Steve about the Zeenuts, at least a little. Two guys from this board found a gold mine and bought over 20 1918s in very decent shape for peanuts. I am sure you realize those are the rare ones. I saw handfuls of 1911s and 1912s but they were ones I already had. I did manage to score a horizontal E100. Tim Newcomb bought an E99 while I was there. Plenty of 1910 (especially) and 1911 Obaks all over the place, most raw but a bunch graded. I saw zero 1909 Obaks (surprise, surprise). Lots of PCL items (memorabilia) all over the place. |

I know ZERO about PCL cards, but I did see one thing that looked pretty cool. It was an autograph book with Zeenuts pasted into it, with PCL player autographs adjacent to the card on each page. The book was opened up to the Lombardi card/signature, in a display case. The card had it's borders trimmed off so it would fit into the book, so I would assume the same was the case for all the other cards inside the book - not being a PCL collector or an autograph collector, I didn't ask to see it. Nor did I note who the seller was. |

Dan- I may have heard wrong but the guy who bought the 1918 lot mentioned $500, I believe. At first I thought he meant per card but he said for the entire lot. I assumed they were cut in half or looked horribly creased but he said they were nice. I asked, "those are the ones with the red borders. right? And he said 'yes.'" I don't want to mention his name for privacy sake but since he is a 54er, I assume we might see scans posted on the new acquisition thread. If I heard right, that was the purchase of the show. |

You heard right. 18 or 19 Z18's for $500.00 though I think the two of them went in together for the Lot. I might be wrong there and maybe they will pipe in on the deal. I agree that it was likely the deal of the show. |

I saw those 1918s but I did not ask the price; I just figured it would be way over my head for commons I didn't want. ARGH!!!! |
