1965 Topps/OPC #282 has the distinction of depicting one of the following:
the first player born in Japan to play in the majors
the first Japanese player on a baseball card
other

Anyone know the significance of Masanori Murakami? Not a trivia question, I'd like to know.

I saw him play with the Fresno Giants of the California League. 1963, I think.

Weren't there Japanese baseball cards produced earlier than 1965? Or do ya'll mean Major League BB cards?
