Sure I'm a true collector. For me collecting includes buying and trading for cards I need. |

There are so many different ways people collect that it would be almost impossible to define a true collector. Even the most dedicated one sells some things once in a while. If you love collecting, you're a collector. |

Good question...i think in todays market its difficult not to intermingle both, i think its a natural part of the hobby to try to obtain cards under market value or buy a group of cards and sell off the extras to pay for the ones you need. Investment almost happens immediately as the value of the cards keep going up. The grading game has significantly changed the hobby as the price scale for every grade level is available, versus the old days where cards were basically either NM,VG, or Poor and left up to the dealers for their perspective of mint. |

100% Pure collector here. I've acquired 22,565 different post war cards, 7890 different minor league cards and now a couple hundred vintage cards, every one of them a St. Louis Cardinal. |

Sounds like you're a Cardinals fan and a true collector. Besides you know the no. of cards you have. I lost count a long time ago. |
