Saw these cards in local shop and only thing I know is they would be sgc or psa 1's. Do they look real to you guys? Thanks - Seller hesitant to send to SGC or PSA.

The Jackson is as fake as a 3 dollar bill. The Wagner probably is but I can't tell for sure from that scan. Someone else probably can....

I agree... not authentic cards. PSA might slab 'em as 1's, I think SGC would get 'em right and not grade them at all.

Are they in a baseball card shop or some other kind of shop? If baseball card shop, do they have almost entirely new stuff, or is there a fair amount of old?? I figure if it is almost all new, you won't get far telling anyone that the cards aren't real... you'll only make them mad.

This is one time I can say I agree completely with Frank (hi Frank). The Jax is a fake - the space between the picture and the black border is a giveaway. The Wagner looks fake, but even if it wasnt, its trimmed.

The sad part about card shop owners that deal (mostly) in shiney stuff is that they usually have NO clue about older/vintage cards. Telling them that a card is fake usually makes them unhappy. I'd take a different approach. I'd tell the shop owner that it might be in their best interest to have the cards authenticated so that they aren't SUED later on for selling high dollar fakes, unless of course they do the right thing and refund the money (which they hate to do).

The sad part about this is that we keep telling people to have the cards graded or authenticated. I've been told that a lot of the graders have NO clue what they're looking at. In the case of high dollar cards I'm sure the trained grading monkeys give it to the chief gorilla that has a little bit of knowledge on the subject.

Let me see, the shop owner only has a few vintage cards and they're both high dollar items... hmmm... I'm not sure if it'd be time to bust open the piggy bank yet unless I have a guarantee, in writing, that says the owner will REFUND the money (all of it) if the cards are found to be reprints.

Both PSA and SGC would get these right and label them fakes despite what some detractors believe.
