Default T204 Pricing

Posted By: Dave Hornish

OK-I was interested in this card but it seems the bidding went a little crazy:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=008&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&viewitem=&item=180079201210&rd=1&rd=1

4 snipes at the end, 3 at the same time so obviously the card was in play. Now granted it seems like a nice looking 2 but is $330 a little steep for a T204 in this grade? I'd like to put together a set of the Brooklyns from this issue but maybe I am up against a rising tide?

Dave

As stated, that is a harshly graded 2. Well worth the $330.00. Frankly I'm surprised it sold for so little. It seems the graders have always been tuff on 204's. We've all seen other cards with rounded corners geta 3 or 4. Go figure. I have a Cicotte graded a 2 that, condition wise is the same as this. Still a pretty card, in spite of some third party's opinion. This is not a grading bashing comment. Just an opinion.

I know a few collectors trying to complete a T204 set, and they have deep pockets. When a card comes up they need it is likely they will win.

Default T204 Pricing

I bid on this and also thought that, relative to the prices I've paid recently for similar Ramly's, it was a bit pricey. But a lot of stuff I'm interested in lately seems, in general, to be creeping up. More people and more money out there and one's bids will have to be adjusted accordingly.

When I have T204 for sale I have no trouble finding bidders. It's a nice 2 and the price seems reasonable, not too high at all.
