i am offering for auction the above mentioned card. the auction will run 7 days from the time this is posted. please respond to this post with your name and bid. all bids to follow must be higher than the previous (pretty simple). the winner will be the one with the highest bid before the hammer drops, exactly 7 days to the second. any bids after that exact second will be too late. |

As we are discussing the format, in the other thread, if we find a better way, you may do this however ya'll decide is best. It might be in this thread or it might be a BST page set for auctions or .....?? I very much appreciate your offer of a percentage but I will not accept anything under any circumstance for allowing auctions to be done. thanks again for the support and the auction suggestion...best regards |

Michael- how can everyone expect to get their final bid in at 8:00 on the button without software? What if there are ten guys left at the end and they want to bid but don't know the status? |

Michael- here's an issue: if there are two snipes on an ebay lot, one for $700 and one for $1200, the winner gets the lot for $710. If you got the same two bids at the end, what would the winner pay? |

why not just start the bidding at $905 since the reserve is public. all under bids are meaningless since there is no benefit in being able to bid later in the "bonus time" supplied by auctin houses. |

Okay- I would like to bid $250. How will my bid be recorded? If I want to leave a ceiling, how do I do it (and you neglected to answer my earlier question)? |

barry- i respect your input, i am learning as i go here...consider this like a "LIVE" auction...no ceiling bids...if you want a ceiling bid of, let's say, $1300, then just either bid that now, or what until close to the end... |

The only way for this to work is to install proper software somewhat like eBay. I suggest that it is a weekly auction and all new listings start on Monday and close every Sunday night in 2 minute increments, No extended biddings just a straight forward auction. |

Michael- I know that you are winging this, but as your friend I have to tell you to devise some very specific rules for how it will end...or you will get two people who say "no, I won the card" and you will have a huge headache. And I still can picture how this will end. Will you get ten emails at 7:59 with bids from people who have no clue what the status is? |

barry- i hear you, that's why i thought to make the rules, that the auction ends at the exact hammer time 12:25pm next saturday...all bids need to be posted prior to that exact time...highest bidder wins, and in the event there are multiple bidders near the end with the same exact amount (assuming that might only happen in the last minute)...to be fair, it will have to goto the first person to post that amount... |

feel sorry for you mvsnyc. nobody is talking about the advantages here: no call backs thru the nite,no buyers commission, free shipping. that being said i don't think this will work. how do you hold people accountable for paying? They'll be too many complaints just like there is now. You'll probably be using BST eventually. Good luck, MVSNYC |

because the auction was started without any increments, i will just keep it that way...if you post "905.01", then you are the high bidder...for now. |
