If anyone ever wanted to know what the caramel, that came with our cards, looks like after about 90 yrs...here ya go. I won a couple boxes off of ebay and the candy is still in them. These were not boxes that came with cards but had another small prize in them along with the caramel. This stuff is hard as a rock.....

Leon- I'll bet you a shiny quarter that you can't eat the whole box in one sitting. By the way, they likely made many different types of candy, so that may not be exactly the kind that accompanied the cards. But it looks pretty gross. Maybe the cards are rare because the candy was just plain awful and they took it off the shelves.

As an added note, the "cake walk" was a turn of the century dance performed by blacks, sort of a minstrel show type of thing. Is it possible these candies were targeted to the African American community?
