I have been able to post to my website the entire 1906 Ullman postcard set of 12 New York Giants World Champions of 1905.The contribution of the elusive Henry Mathewson card (Christy's little brother) and my acquistion of the 1906 National League Champion Cubs team card has made this possible.

Steve - great collection of a really really tough issue!

Steve or Frank - do you know if the reddish brown or greenish brown bordered cards is harder? Or is the whole issue so tough that it is irrelevant?

Richard: I too would love to hear from Frank on this. Of the 11 Ullman cards I personally own (I have a dup McGann) 9 are greenish borders and 2 brownish. Lew's, Ken's and Mike's are all three greeninsh. The lot that sold at Lelands (see link) were all brownish.

I don't think there is much difference in rarity.

Those are cool. How much would a Mathewson, McGinnity and McGraw cost in poor shape ? I wouldn't mind owning them

I always thought the green ones might be scarcer. But the only reason was because the first 5-7 of these I saw were the redish-brown ones (this was back when the checklist was very incomplete and the green cards werent even noted in cataloges yet). Since then Ive seen about 1/2 and 1/2 between the 2 colors, so I think they are about the same. I do now know that the same player can be found in either color. I had a Donlin that was the redish-brown color, and yours pictured looks to be the greenish color.

Steve, Thanks for posting the pics, I had never seen the Henry Mathewson card before.

PS... with that surface chipped one in the auction, Ive seen at least 5 different Christy cards now that Im sure of.

Also looking at that auction Steve posted, these cards obviously sell for far more than they book at.
