Default Hickey Haines (1923 Yankees)

Posted By: Eric

Hickey Haines is the great uncle of a good friend of mine. My friend asked me to research whether or not a baseball card was ever made of him. Considering Haines only had 25 AB's for the 1923 Yankees, and that was his entire major league career, I would say chances are slim to none.. But if anyone know's of a card or vintage photo existing of Haines, please let me know. Thank you!

Haines is a great sports story, I believe he is the only player to ever win a Championship in both professional baseball and football.

I believe this is the only baseball item he was ever on, he was with the Reading team at the time.

For a nice photo of Hinkey, see hdl.loc.gov/loc.pnp/ggbain.33972 Also, the historical society in Hinkey's hometown has a great photo of Hinkey & Babe Ruth.
