Is it possible that the prices reflect the relative difficulty in finding D304 cards and that collectors desire a Wagner as much (probably more) than Cobb? |

Fred, I think Quan was being facetious. Wagner and Cobb are about the same in terms of difficulty for this set. There may be some collectors that pay more for a Wagner card, but I don't think that is the case in this set. Prices in general are just higher than in the past. For example, the Mathewson is a SGC 3 and a nice PSA 4 sold for less than today's weaker card only one month ago. I think today's prices simply reflect the upward trend for the D304 set in general. |

I was agreeing with Quan because it seems that Wagner is now on par with Cobb in card prices! It's a tough issue to collect and the Wagner fan club seems to be increasing daily. Sometimes posts can be read in a few different ways. I guess that's the problem with email and forum posts, it's hard to place the right inflections and "voice" to the text. |

Thanks for the clarification Fred. I thought you and Quan were joking when you posted that the first time. At least now I know that one of you was being serious. |

i was kidding of course about wagners' pricing reversing those of cobbs but in reality the wagners are fast approaching the prices of those cobbs in the same issues. in my mind cobb was the superior player and his cards should always get a slight premium if condition and scarcity are the same. |
