I agree with Hal. You would have to break out the card out of the GAI holder and submit it raw to have anything other than a small chance of it crossing at an equal grade. |

I haven't had that experience with the things I've crossed over to SGC. GAI cards ALWAYS crossed over with the like grade from SGC. The only exception I could see happening is losing 1/2 a grade with GAI's ".5" system. I think you would be safe moving them to SGC. From what I've seen, the PSA anti-GAI thing doesn't really hold water. |

I have had many gai graded cards cross over into the same/equivalent sgc slab. Ive even had a few tweeners cross up from gai to sgc (for example, a 2.5 to a 3) - however, those are also the grades where you are most likely to have a down grade (the half grades that sgc does not have an equivalent for - ie 2.5, 3.5, 4.5). |

I agree with Anson - if I felt that the card deserved the equivilent grade, I usually dont crack it out when I send it to sgc. I have never had them downgrade a card from gai unless it was one of the half grades that they dont have. On the other hand, I have had several psa 4s downgraded to sgc 40s). The only time I will crack a card out is if it is a half grade and I think it might bump up a grade - then I agree that you are more likely to get a bump up if SGC has no information as to the original grade. |

On their website, they say they won't crossover cards valued over $500. However, I think I read where they made an exception for someone. So maybe you can contact them to see if they will make an exception for you. By the way, I hate exceptions - either do it or don't do it - why make some people special and others non-special? I don't see the harm in crossing over cards valued over $500. |

Im guessing SGC has made "exceptions" in the past based on the fact that the $500 limit is a fairly recent change and people are still sending them high valued cards for crossover. Rather than send them back simply to make the submitter crack them out and resend, they have made some exceptions. I dont know if they are reviewing the cards under the crossover submission level or the proper level had the cards been submitted raw. |
