Very nice indeed. I would have some sort of display. But, between two young children and an overly-adventurous cat, I can't take any chances.

I am upset - thought the Cullivans' would be in the scan. Post a scan of those babies you had - would love to see those!

Sadly, that picture was taken before I got stationed in Florida. Those were all the cards I bought while learning everything I could from Ron Oser and Bill Bosert while stationed in Philly. The t205s in the picture are the ones that came from the unopened HLC packs. The only missing from picture is the complete set of t201. I just put the one card in the pic. Didn't take a picture of any more pics of cards in my collection after that, regretably. I have the occassional photo of stuff in the background, but no other pics like this one.

Here's a shot of me set up at a Macrae show. My usualy spot next to the entrance to the cafateria.

That's a picture of the 1889 St Paul team. The back had the scores of all the games written on it. A piece I kinda wish I had back.

My bedroom after I joined the Navy in 1981. It got turned into a storage room for all of mine and Lee's cards. Gotta love the Velvetta Cheese box storage system.

With controlled pride here is a choice portion of my collection. Some items may be familiar but overall this is a special showcase display.

I relied heavily on professional experts for their accuracy to grade and authenticate these items.

Several years ago I obtained an unopened pack of Kimball’s High Grade Cigarettes. I opened the pack to find a Butterfly card. It was disappointing but maybe my luck has changed. I am contemplating opening the Liggett & Myers Tobacco Co. Richmond Cigarette pack shown above. What are my chances of finding a mint Ewing card?

very nice stuff!

re opening the pack- whew! I dont' know what your chances are of a Ewing, but I'm not sure how well I could restrain myself from finding out if I was in your shoes, either!

Buy all the baseball/butterfly cards that might be in that box on your own and keep the darn box sealed, for Pete's sake!

I'd be interested to see if a n36 Indian Chief comes out that pack. I've never seen a Sitting Bull. I like that "professionally" graded and authenticated Mayo without the ad. Muswt be a newly discovered variant

What is PSA's policy on cards like this? If someone were to purchase that PSA 9 1953 Paige and shell out thousands of dollars, and if were a verifiable transaction, would PSA shell out the paid price to take the card off the market?

PSA's standard practive has been to deny, deny, deny and not shell out any money until they are hauled into court.

I figured it was a modern reprint - what gives it away - the large white borders/card stock or is there s/t more obvious that Im missing.

The large white borders and shrunk down image are the giveaway. I have a couple of these at home - they have a glossy finish and are the same size as a regular modern day card (2.5" x 3.5") rather than the larger, real 1953 topps size.

It also says "Topps Archives" on the back with the set serial number, I believe.

Only three stars from Scott.....

Yes Adam, something is definitely missing.

The 1963 Fleer Mays ided as a 1958 Topps is extremely is careless.

A blue Fro-Joy is sad.

Liggett & Myers did not become the successor to the A&G Richmond brand cigarettes until after the breakup of ATC in 1911. Inserting N cards ended in 1889.

I think the "C" on your Cobb and my Collins are a dead giveaway that these came from the same set of photos. It looks like you have a nice little collection of fan taken photos there. I really like that Robinson. If you ever look to sell those let me know.

I got that Robinson off Ebay a couple of years ago- and it was another one of those feelings of waiting for days for the auction to end and thinking "Man! I hope no one notices this!" I think I got it for something like $33. It turned out that the photographer took it on his honeymoon with his wife at Wrigley in 1947. I look at that photo and I think of what that man was going through that summer- it's amazing. A bonus here is the photographer seemed to pay attention to exposure when he shot the photo- Robinson's skin was so dark that alot of times you don't get much detail - particularly in something like a snapshot. With these kind of photos, you think "Man- wouldn't it be wild if I could find a snapshot of the player"- and if you do, that in itself is amazing enough- but to have it be a really good one? That's almost too much to believe.

I got that Dimaggio photo for something like $8, also on Ebay, as well as the Snider which was in a group of 3 Dodgers for again, something like $8.

Did you get the 1910 snapshots off of ebay? I got mine on ebay last year, but the seller didn't have any others on at the time.

Yes- got them off Ebay, I thought about two years ago, but I'm not certain. There was at least one or two other different photos up for auction at the time taken from a similar position in the park by the same photographer.
