I've seen a few members bidding on the PSA-5 Gehrig Exhibit card on ebay. Be advised, this is not the highest graded example. PSA and Sgc have graded examples higher. I thought with the money already on the table this should be pointed out.

What do you expect? It's a Henry Yee auction. He's been known to bend the truth and write misleading auction decriptions.

I don't get how this guy keeps getting the material he does. His reputation is less than stellar. Then again, Rosen seems to thrive, so this shouldn't surprise me.

The only reason I am bidding on this one is to make sure nobody gets it cheap.

I think Henry messed up though; most of his entries are not cards and ebay has them all in the card section.

The item shows three HOF exhibit cards: Ruth, Ott and Paige. The Ruth image is the widely reprinted one from the 1948 HOF set, the Ott comes from the Salutations set and the Paige comes from the 47-66 set. All three cards are from the 1977 reprint set. At best this is a late 1970s recreation of a vintage machine header.

I am emailing the seller to inform him as well.

And be careful who you are bidding against in his auctions. You will see alot of ID's that only bid on Henry's vintage stuff and no one elses.

Dunno about that one either kee-mo-sa-bee. Right country, at least, but wrong concept. Neat photo though. As a total aside, the use of the William Tell Overture as the theme song for the Lone Ranger has got to be one of the most brilliant uses ever of classical music in pop culture.

Glamorize it all you want. Price control is a syndicate function.

"There are 5 of us who bid on everything just to drive all of the prices up. Everyone else who already owns a vintage card is benefitting from the "bubble" we are creating.

I'll be sure to warn all of you ahead of time before our syndicate pulls the plug and pops the bubble".

You can drive up the price on postcards all you want. Be easy on the 1920's baseball cards though. I have trouble winning them anyway.
