I did a search as well and came up with nothing. You might be right, though, he could have been an entertainer for a local minor league team or such. Maybe he won the local high school talent tryout. |

Funny thing about baseball clowns, all you needed was a bent hat, large velvet jacket, and an oversized glove. The level of originality didn't really change until teams started employing their own mascots. Seems to have come full circle with every team essentially having the same goofy muppet running around with no pants. |
