Willie Pep first won his title and rose to prominence in November of 1942 in New York, so I imagine it probably was taken some time after that.

Might be tough to narrow it down any more then that other then looking at Babe's appearance and estimating it that way. Willie was usually always close to the New York area so it wouldn't have to be a special occasion to bring him out.

Everybody went to Dempsey's restaurant. It could have been after a big fight, a big game, a sportsmans dinner or they just happened to be there at the same time.
