I have a team photo of the Petersburg Goobers of the Virginia League. I think this is the 1914 team since the Manager is wearing the words "Champions" down the front of his uniform to signify that they were the 1913 champions of the league. If that is the case, Sam Rice should be in the photo. Can anyone else confirm his inclusion in the photo with some early career photos or express any opinions? |

I think that might be Sam standing last guy on the right. If that's not him, I don't think he's in the picture. If it is him, fantastic find. |

I agree w/Dan that the guy sitting in the front looks more like Sam Rice than the guy in the back. Also, the guy in the back looks like one of the bigger players on the team and Sam was only 5' 9" and skinnny. |
