Dan- I saw the Knickerbocker photos last night and was about to put a post up to warn people about them. Someone is certainly trying to trick people into thinking those pencil i.d.'s are period. Of course this is yet another scam. |

I asked him for some provenance and he's going to ask his consigner and get back to me. LOL. |

Well someone just got ripped off to the tune of $600. I emailed the seller and told them they should be ashamed of themselves if they go through with the sale of these two lots and he emailed me back saying they are not his but a consignor's "and what makes you an expert?". Like that excuses anything. I notice this guy couldn't get a hold of the consignor the entire week these were listed after I told him they were not Knickerbocker photos. Oh well you can't protect everyone from these guys. |

Besides several of the photos being wrong for the period it was not difficult to find Knickerbocker and Mutuals photos depicting the players in the lots. They weren't even especially close. |

Yep. I told the seller that these photos didn't even date to the period of the players he was representing...he told me he would talk to the consignor. |

It's unfortunate the way these sellers respond Dan. Fact is, you are an expert, and the seller isn't. Why not accept that and just pull the lots? |

I know the winner, although can't find his email at the moment. I suspect he may be simply taking the cards "off the market". |
