It's headed to REA and will be in their April auction. |

If it's real, it's worth a lot of money. I would expect it to sell for more than ten thousand at a major auction. Julie's Fleetwood Walker University of Michigan baseball photo sold for over $6,000 at REA a couple of years ago, and the Syracuse team cabinet photo would be in higher demand. |

By 1888, it was the International Association, not League. The 1888 Association didn't carry-over the laws the League passed in 1887 which forbade new contracts to colored players (the International League split in half at the conclusion of 1887 with 4 teams joining the new 1888 Association). |

I had been in communication with the seller since about 10 minutes after it was listed. I never asked her to end it and told her to not end it and let it run its course. As a courtesy she e mailed me twice right before ending it and told me it was on its way to be authenticated and that she would let me know when it was back from authentication and she was ready to sell it. I was under the impression she was telling the truth so how do you know it is going to REA? Sort of disappointing that she would not be honest with someone who was trying to be honest with her about how many offers she would receive (and she did!) but that is life I guess. I would not have won it anyways, but still disappointing. |

"I suspect the two black players are Moses Fleetwood Walker & Robert Jiggins, both accomplished players. Moses would be the last colored player in the league, playing until at least July 1889. This is my best guess based on limited research." |

It wasn't me...The seller ended the auction and took it straight to REA's offices. |
