I always like the reproduction/reprint/garbage that seems to have been held too close to a flame. I think it's even funnier when they actually burn the edge of the card.

Andy - Is it actually your card? That is what I originally believed, but when I tried to compare them they seemed slightly different (each has an identical mark above the head, but I wasnt sure if that mark appears on all of the cards or not). I just assumed it was a reprint.

To answer the question about the mark above Wagner's head, it is actually a pinhole. It is not on all cards, and would be impossible to have 2 real cards with the exact same mark. His "card" is a doctored scan of mine.

depression day cashed in anything that wasn't nailed down. I don't
know where these guys get these heirloom stories. My Gran left a box

My grandfather lived in Detroit in the 1920's and my father went to many games as a child. There was no baseball memorabilia left over that made its way to Canada and to me, other than the image of my grandfather much later suffering the effects of years of chewing tobacco.

That said, Roy must surely live near some enterprising net54 follower. I would think he would gladly offer the opportunity to show these cards in person. Or not.

The Wholey Grail? I just finished reading DaVinci's Code, so I thought I knew the answer.

e107 Wagner, even 10 years ago-he would have been at the
pawn shop and the racetrack within hours-thats the way

Look at the OJ find. It's like after the original collector passed them along to his kids, they basically were forgotten and almost tossed out in the trash. And this group didn't have just the HOFers, but everyone else.

I'd love to the seller of the Wagner produce some e107s that have NOT been posted to the board. Then I and many others just might give him a slim chance at credability.

Andy,
You said your card has a pin hole above his head. This other card even though it looks just like yours in every way, is actually the recently discovered Wagner Alf Alfa Variation which is much more difficult to obtain then the common e107 Wagner. This card is easily as rare as the fabled blue eyed Wagner. It's crazy, but I feel bad that this rare card has period tea, tobacco juice or coffee spilled on it and the back was probably burned when someone was looking at it over an early 1900s candle before electricity. Wow this is almost as exciting of a find as the one David made with the N172's.

This seller also has a (suspicious looking) 48 Leaf Jackie Robinson that his grandfather left for him. Grandpa must have been quite a collector. He either collected cards right out of the packs for 45 years, or he collected cards in the 40s and just happened to have the foresight to pick up an E107 Wagner at some point in his life.

My only question is this: If you buy his card, will he send you a reprint of Andy's card, or will he send you nothing at all?

Paul, as the astute seller notes, I would be "Proude" to buy that Robinson card but am confused by his payment terms. He says he "excepts" money orders and cashiers checks. Does that mean only money orders and cashiers checks or anything but money orders and cashiers checks? I've got my finger on that Buy-It-Now button and am itching to pull the trigger once I know for sure...

It's really pretty stunning what scammers will do to weasel out of something. Do they have a conscience at all? It's one thing stealing anonymously from an institution (not like i condone that mind you), but to it right in someone's face when they ask you question after question, doing whatever it takes to rip you off. How do these people sleep at night? Don't they have any guilt at all?
