Chance Game Used Bat?

Hello,
This is a nice bat and all but the title says "game used" in 23'. Chance had played his last game as a player in 1911( a few after that as player/manager).

I am not sure a bat used to take infield would warrant the title of game used or $14K. What do you guys think?

Manager's bats are sometimes called 'game used', though I agree that the label is at first appearance counterintuitive. Beyond that, I don't have a feel for the value-- other than, it goes without saying that a HOFer's mananger's bat is worth less than one during his playing days.

A short time ago they moved their operation to Las Vegas. They have had a somewhat spotted past in the memrobilia business. I have heard about some authentication issues. However recently(last several years) they appear to have righted the ship.

I have heard that field of dreams has become a silent partner.

Other than their somewhat deceptive description on the bat, I would say they are reputable.

Who gives a damn and how would you know it was game used? Dean Chance only hit .066 for his career,i.e. bat almost never hit ball. Twins fans used to weep openly when he stepped in the box with two out and men on base. The world's absolute worst hitter, I think he had about 5 more lifetime hits than I did. Come to think about it, his game used bat should be worth some dough, seeing as he probably only used one his whole time in the big leagues.

All hype,........ Chance's last AB in a Major League GAME (ie Game used) was in 1913 with NY AL. Oh well, dont believe the hype Frank

Does anyone know what the winning bis was on the F. Chance bat? They have not posted the results yet on thier web site. Late last night it was around 15k.

Which according to Masto's "Game Used Bat Price Guide" is about $2K more than it should have sold for. Assuming you are OK with a managers bat being considered a "Game Used" bat.
