Hi Leon, Interesting back on the E222. Its different than the 2 in Lipsets Vol.2 (page 68). The design at top and the font on "AWH Caramels" is totally different. Im curious, does anyone, who is familiar enough with this rare set know how many different backs there are, including the error "AWA" variation? Maybe theres a different back for each of the 12 players?? I dont have a clue as Ive only seen a handful in last 20 years. |

As far as I know the resident defacto expert would be Mark McCrae. I had a great 45 minute conversation with him about 2 weeks ago about this and the E221 series. I believe he has quite a few of these and am pretty sure nary a one is for sale. I asked. I know Scott B. has 2 that I have been trying to buy for 13x book and he consistently says "no way" not for sale. I don't really know anything more than what Lew mentions in his book but I will one up you and make a standing offer of 10x book for one of them |

I got to see the e222s Macrae had when I was at his palce a few weeks ago. Didn't see the backs since the way he stores them does not allow you to see the back unless you remove the card from the page. |

Actually, based on the fact that it is card number 10, it is a 1916 M101-4 series. |

the "opposite post office" description may suggest a place with a limited number of post offices and perhaps only one. if this assertion is correct, the mall theatre would likely have been located in a relatively small city or town as opposed to a major metropolis. |
