Default C 1909 Real Photo PC

Came across this yesterday morning at a local show. Good seller that I know said it was rare. Big price tag, I don’t know if sold or not.

Anyway, seeking opinions on this as I find it to be an appealing, oddball item (thnx).

It’s a cool PCL piece, I’ve seen one come to auction before (maybe the same card). Might be so rare there’s not a robust market for it, remember, rare does not always mean valuable.
Personally, I wouldn’t tie up a bunch of dough to add it to my PCL collection but that’s just me.

I agree. Very cool looking but not a ton of demand. Valuable, just not real valuable.

I am not great at facial recognition, but the 1909 San Francisco Seals would have had Ping Bodie on the team (he seems to be the most well-known player) https://www.baseball-reference.com/r...gi?id=83869062

Also, if you collect Obaks, this might be a cool tie-in...I recognize several names from that set on the team (which makes sense, of course).

I have also learned many lessons (ouch!) in the difference between rarity and scarcity....
