FS: Walter Johnson Game Used 1926 Baseball - Geddy Lee Collection - MEARS JSA LOA
From the Geddy Lee personal collection….
This ball was the final ball from the April 13, 1926 matchup on opening day between the Philadelphia A’s and the Washington Senators.
Walter Johnson threw his 108th career shutout in an amazing 15 inning game.
This ball was part of Al Simmons personal collection as he fielded the final ball and presented to A’s pitcher Ed Rommel after the winning run scored.
MEARS has also authenticated the ball and provenance. JSA Authentication for Rommel's signature.
Geddy Lee (lead singer of Rush) had sold a majority of his collection after publishing a book “72 Stories” and included with this ball is a signed copy of his book with the incredible inscription related to Walter Johnson and this ball. The article about this ball is featured on page 82.
Johnson game used items are very difficult to find making this an extremely valuable baseball to own.
