Well I think it is a beautiful set with some very hard to get cards not even taking the different back combinations into play. And some very very hard to get common cards as well.
So after covering this set for 20 years now at VCP I have 2 cards that have zero sales records and wonder if they even exist... Can someone here confirm the following 2 cards Cy Seymour-Baltimore we have lots of sales for the New York version Johnny Bates-Cincinnati again lots of sales for Philadelphia Thanks |

I agree, the set is beautiful and underappreciated-
I've collected and followed the set closely for 25 years. Others can probably supply more detailed info, but the story is that these two cards surfaced in one copy each sometime in the 2000s. They were privately sold (actually maybe one was a Lipset auction), possibly still ungraded, and disappeared into deep collections, where I assume they still reside. In my Old Cardboard article on the set I tried to describe the distribution process that produced these rarities, and speculated that there could be a few more out there - but to my knowledge no more have appeared. here's the Seymour image, although this particular piece may have been cut from a sheet of some kind.

This 1 of 1 Boston Americans variation of Frank Smith was discovered over twelve years ago and was auctioned by REA in 2013.

There are three Seymour Baltimore known. The one shown(which is mine) and these two...one of which is fully finished. I know for a fact that the Seymour, Baltimore was offered as part of the M116 set prior to the team change as I have one of the Sporting Life Glassines with that version listed as well as one with the New York. I would have to check to see if I have them for Bates and Smith..
