Hi
I am Gary Richards, my friends call me Wally, and this is my first time posting a message. Last April 2024, I submitted 13 cards to Beckett at a card show in Wilmington, Ma. One card was a 1969 Topps Mantle last name in white letters. A month later I got my list saying that my cards have been graded and that my Mantle white letter last name was graded a five. A week later I got my cards back and it was listed on top as a 1969 Topps Mantle white letter graded 5. The problem is someone at Beckett took my card and substituted a Mantle last name yellow card. Somewhere between their expert grader and their encapsulating department, my $3000 card turned into a $300 card. I have been trying for almost 11 months to get ahold of someone at Beckett with no luck. I finally got a secretary named Netta with whom I had almost 20 communications, each time she said is working on this. I sent her pictures. I believe she might be some kind of AI answering service. When you try calling Beckett they tell you to leave an email, or they say they will get back to you in 24-48 hours. They never call back. Last Nov. I went to another show in Wilmington and met Neil Goldstein from Beckett and showed him my problem and he researched the submission and admitted this was a problem. He gave me the email, they never give a phone number, of a Emmitt Runge whom I think was in charge of Customer Service. I have sent him numerous emails with no response. Has anyone ever had a problem with Beckett, and have you had any luck communicating with them. On Becketts website I have seen reviews from people wondering how you get Customer Service. As far as I am concerned they do not care about their customers. I would love to hear from anyone who could help me. Thanks Gary (Wally) Richards |

Hi
I have a picture. But, the way this worked is : 1-i handed the Beckett representative the card And it is listed on my submission form. 2: it made it to their expert grader who saw a 1969 Topps Mantle last name in white letters card. 3- they sent me a letter saying my 1969 Topps Mantle white letters last name graded a 5. That is all the proof I need. When you send Card in, you have to take the word of the expert grader as to what he saw. |

Sounds to me as if you've got a case that's a slam dunk. You could even file criminal charges against Beckett.
