Anybody else notice this? T206 yellow scrap Butler. I bowed out. Couldn't justify $1300 for this. But pretty neat. I wonder if it went unnoticed?

I didn't see this lot until right now. Cool card. Carrigan is a scrap too it seems - hand cut and the rose layer from another card printed over the top.

I saw that lot, but what caught my eye was the card next to the Butler...a T206 of Kelley that had the cool 'William(s) - St. Louis' transfer on the back. I believe this is Jimmy Williams who ended his MLB career playing for the Browns in 1908 and 1909, and that the transfer is possibly from the German Baseball stamps issue of 1909-10, which includes Williams. This set is detailed in this link from the Prewarcards website:
https://prewarcards.com/2016/10/11/1...and-checklist/ I have included a scan of the back of the Kelley card. I guess we all focus on what interests us, because I didn't even notice the Butler card. I have to admit I was wondering why this lot went for so much, because I couldn't imagine it being much more than a $800 lot, even with the cool back transfer card. I guess I know now. I won this lot for the backstamp. I have a second like it. The Butler is pretty cool too

I was bidding on it as well. Just didn't know enough about scraps/print anomalies to pursue it aggressively. The rest of the lot was really rough. Congrats to Jay. Suspect he got a nice deal. A bit of a mistake on Leland's part not to highlight it.
