Default Collector Gathering 2000 "StadiaPex" do you know any of these collectors?

I recently came across this photo and was reminded of how this hobby has introduced me to so many great people. The group pictured consists of postcard collectors, as well as ballpark and ballplayer enthusiasts. For several years, we would gather near the National Convention for a day-long event we called Stadiapex. When the National was held in Anaheim, I had the pleasure of hosting Stadiapex at my home. It was a fantastic day filled with sharing collections, buying, selling, trading, and learning from one another. We held a raffle, enjoyed burgers and hot dogs grilled by my 12-year-old son, and were treated to a presentation by Vic Pallos on the history of PCL ballparks.

After 25 years I'm having a problem identifying all the collectors in the photo, let me know if you recognize anyone. Thank you. Jim

Last on the right standing is Jerry Hermele, D.C. area collector of panoramas, etc., who passed away 15-20 years ago.

Hi Hank, Thank you. I couldn't remember Jerry's last name. I believe he was a federal judge. Jim

Default I went to a couple of these later

I always thought these smaller "sub-set" shows should have been in a "meeting room" at the NSCC show instead of another location.

To me, these type of events should be featured even more at an NSCC as they add to the show and don't really take away from the primary event.

SABR Ballparks Committee may be somewhere to inquire about the remaining names.

Rich, Up until the 1989 Chicago show (Hyatt Regency downtown), they were. Whether it was for tobacco cards, uniforms, Japanese cards, etc ...these mini gatherings were one of the best parts of the National Conventions. The closest thing you have now are the Net54 National gatherings and Andrew's specialty gathering near Washington DC. If you are serious about collecting a particular theme, then or now, you make the effort to attend.
