Default Seeking Negro League Alabama teams/players

I am working on a project that covers Negro League teams and players in Alabama prior to 1950. Other than the most famous players, ie Satchel & Willie, I'm having a tough time finding images of players, teams and ballparks. If anyone has any items I would love to see what is out there - and make offers if you might make it available! Even if not I am very curious to know if there is stuff I am missing or if it is just that rare.

I'm currently working my way through online sources and libraries, but its been slow going. Any help on locating any of these would be absolutely appreciated, net54 always has fantastic info!! Thank you in advance!

Teams I am seeking include:
1920's-1940's Birmingham Barons
1920's-1940's Montgomery Grey Sox/Red Sox
Any era Mobile Tigers/Black Shippers
Gadsden Tigers
Tuskegee Tigers
Dothan Browns
Selma Black Cloverleafs
Any Negro Southern League team

Players I have been trying to locate include, bot limited to:
Johnny Washington (infielder, not the pitcher)
Doc Sykes
Sam Streeter
Dizzy Dismukes
Pepper Bassett
Howard Easterling
Poindexter Williams
Robert Poindexter
and many many more!

There's a Howard Easterling photo on ebay right now. The owner is here on n54 but I can't remember the name.

I have a Piper Davis original photo that is the source print for the contemporary postcards with him leaning over dugout steps. It's not for sale however.

Thank you! I hadn't seen the Easterling yet, is it me or is his glove webbing not attached? I wonder if thats his gamer or if he just grabbed an old mitt for the pic?
Excellent shot of Piper, I have one of him with Oakland, so I didn't include him in my list. That is cool tho, much better image than the postcards! Thanks so much!!

In case you are interested in seeing items related to the players beyond just photos.

Neither is for sale, but here are auto's of Easterling (last signature on the 1946 Paige All-Stars signed sheet), Dismukes on a game register and Pepper Bassitt on sheet signed by (part of) the 1946 Jackie Robinson All-Stars barnstorming team.

That is sweet! I am familiar with most of those guys, my personal fave is probly one of the least known on that sheet, Johnny Davis. Davis was one of three Black players to integrate my local Montgomery Rebels team, his last pro stop in baseball after a long career.

Pepper Bassett was known to sometimes sit in a rocking chair to catch an inning or two. Thank you so much, that is cool!

Really cool info. I had not known anything about Davis.
