Default 1914 Cracker Jack Frank Chance rarity vs value

Was looking at some information on this card relative to its rarity, both population and the fact that its only available in the 1914 set similar to the Mathewson. PSA pops are very similar as well, Mathweson at 35 and with Chance only 9 more at 44 total. I know Chance wasn't the same player as Mathewson and not as popular but the Chance seems very undervalued in comparison? Both are extremely difficult. Why does the gap seem to be getting even bigger between these to cards?

You nailed it with the popularity gap. There are some collectors (like me) who stick to the most iconic players, instead of building sets. I have very limited space, so I'd pass on the Chance. Frankly, I'm surprised Chance is in the same stratosphere as Speaker. I assume he gets a boost from Baseball's Sad Lexicon.

There's a ton of earlier F.Chance cards and his 1914 Cracker Jack is a Yankee card.

One would pay a premium for a 1914 Cracker Jack card where he was a sub-par manager and part time player for a team he's barely known for being attached.
