Default FS: Beautiful Ty Cobb autograph with provenance

Offering up a significant piece of my personal collection, a beautifully bold autograph of baseball great Tyrus Raymond Cobb. I myself purchased this piece from a local collector here in South Dakota a few years back

The autograph itself is on a piece of paper bag from a grocery store in Salem, SD. A copy of a snippet from the Deadwood Pioneer-Times from October 10, 1945 details the nature of Cobbs visit to the state of South Dakota and his home to Glen Rock, NV.

A personally written letter from the recipient of Cobb's autograph is also included. It reads:

"This autograph was given to Arlene Dupuis (Karel) of Salem, SD. Ty Cobb came to Salem, SD on a hunting trip, he brought his pheasant into the 'Farmer's Trading Post' where I worked. My boss asked if I'd like an autograph & I said sure -- Ty Cobb tore a paper sack and autographed it for me" - undated

The autograph itself is signed in pencil and dated October 6th 1945. There are symmetrical folds in the rectangular section and one small hole in the lower left quadrant (appears black on picture d/t background). PSA authentication #: AJ78606 authenticated October 7th, 2021 (Almost exactly 76 years to the day it was signed!)

Tough to find an autograph of one of the games greatest players with such significant provenance. The LOA is standard 8x11 size for reference

Looking for $2500 shipped USPS express overnight. Cross posted to Blowout Forums. Please message or text with any questions, thank you

Agreed. It’s very cool to be able to trace this one all the way back to its origins instead of just a random piece of paper. Probably has a little more value to me because of my proximity to it but a very cool piece nonetheless
