Honestly most surprised by Michael Jordan. There are that many potentially higher value ungraded Jordan cards out there?

I know some people will pay to encapsulate any old piece of crap card, but I assume 90% of this is speculation to get the 9 or 10 on a card before it explodes in value.

Jordan's prime was in the junk wax era, so lots of chances to try and pull 10's, which can still bring a few bucks, just because it's Jordan.

Just looked up his 1989 Fleer, and 10's bring nearly $1000 bucks sometimes. I was around when those came out. Fleer didn't print nearly as much as HOOPs did, but they did print A LOT, trying to capitalize on the recent price increases of the 1986 Fleer release.

9's don't bring much at all, but 10's....that's the lottery ticket.

Plus, it's not like they ever stopped making Michael Jordan cards.

I would think resubmissions make up a lot of Jordan subs too.

I did misread that, yes. I still think it's remarkable considering that many in the hobby still don't take women's sports seriously.

Agreed. Not that long ago some people on this forum were mocking women's basketball cards. Some of the RCs now bring pretty strong prices, all the more so because in some years, the production numbers are truly low -- only 400 Tina Charles RCs for example, and 500 each of maybe the two best players ever, Breanna and Aja. Plus, there is one Hall of Fame which includes women -- think registry sets.

Yeah, I'm sure there are people who will resubmit the same card 15-20 times if the 10 is a potential five figure card.
