Until someone credible says they have illuminated one of those cards with uv light and says that it did not fluoresce, I'd say it was made this century, it is not part of any recognized set as it is not genuine, and if you want to get one you'd need to find the guy who created it and after assuring that person that you're not going to bring a civil nor criminal action against him, then that person might make one for you.

I have not heard of Romano nor Barabe... but the way it's claimed that they looked at that sheet it reminds me of Ian Anderson singing "Where the hell was Biggles when we needed him last Saturday?"

Years ago I was interested in getting a ball card of a player for some reason I've now forgotten. I eventually arrive at a realization that the only card he made it to was a Remar Bread card, a 1947 Pacific Coast League card. The first one I bought on eBay was about $4, with a few dollars for postage. It arrives, and I know it's fake. Front didn't look exactly right. And the back, which was printed in black was supposed to be printed with blue ink. I dig around for a black light, turn it on, and the card is fluorescing brightly. I think someone has "made" this card with access to a real one and a good photocopier. I email him about it asking for a refund; his response was that he'd refund purchase money and postage. I told him if he also refunded me stamp money I'd mail it back to him, he said, no thanks. I think he knew it wasn't real... Why am I saying this? Because I still have the card. it's in a penny sleeve, and on the sleeve in bright red Sharpie ink I printed "FAKE". One day if someone sees my cards, I don't want them to think there's a bunch of fakes or reprints in there. And I don't want a Hub Perdue card like that one you're after because I'm comfortable with the idea that the card is a fake (subject to someone showing me it's on period correct paper.

I met a grandson of Hub's, we talked in his home; he gave me a few stories about his grandfather. He was from Gallatin, TN, about 35 minutes from where I live. I have a bunch of Hub cards, and 2 or 3 of his signatures. He was County Clerk for Sumner County, TN after baseball. I figure we collectors won't dig out all of the deeds and mortgages he might have signed as clerk, most are probably safely resting a trunk in an attic somewhere in the hills of Tennessee.
