Hey Steve, couldn't any potential card(s) have been accessed on the other side anyway? I am not as familiar with the packs as you.

On the pack that I have (a Liggett and Myers) the end opposite the tax stamp was sealed also. None of the packs in this lot have a similar seal. For the pack experts, was that used only after a certain time?

It does say that 5 of those 6 contain the cigarettes. And they all have the sliding box that comes out of the shell, as can be seen just from the ends. But if there is a coupon inside, that might be helpful to know?

ah i misread that the packs were opened which i assumed meant you could see the potential card inside, but just the seal on the boxes is broken.

I'm not totally familiar with the packs, but I am with the stamps.
They're usually cancelled with some sort of company ID, the date and the factory. Some earlier ones and some later ones will have less or no cancelling information.

The one on the left in this picture - not my stamps- is the right company, right factory, and March 1911, so could have been on a pack with T206, or maybe T205 although it seems a bit early for those.

I just seems to me that showing the tax stamp would be important for these packs.

Well when the seal is broken the packs have definitely been opened to see what’s inside. The packs in this group of 6 are in no way unsearched.

You can see the bulk of the tax stamp on most every pack. No additional factory or date added stamping appears present. this goes for both the opened packs as well as sealed.
