Hattie J. Caulkins, Lorraine, NY. Who knows who she was?

According to ancestry.com, Harriet "Hattie" Irene Caulkins of Lorraine, NY, was born in 1868, and died in 1934. She married Frank Moore in 1889.

Default Letters off topic

1st of all thanks for input so far. There are 3 letters dated 1887. Here are 2 more pieces. 1 might be about BB league between NY & Detroit?, the other a name from someone that received the letter. The writing is really difficult to read.

It is actually quite easy to read as it is fairly standard cursive writing.

Glorious 4th will they not? Here the 4th is a drill day or would be if it were not for the great crowd of people brought in by numerous ‘”exertion” parties (Isn’t that the proper name for them?)
Wish you could be up here to see some of the League B.B. games, the one Saturday for instance between N.Y and Detroit. Detroit still has the lead….

reading this long drawn out epistle at any point perhaps you will forgive me. Please write me soon.
With kindest regards I remain

Easy for you, but pretty sloppy cursive,
