Default 1909 E95 Eddie Plank pen marking

I’ve had this card in my collection for some time and have never been able to make out the signature or word written on the back. Idk but nothing pops up in my head. Any guesses as to what you see or read ?

Default Player number 26 ?

Was there an addition to the roster after the set went to print ? A trade perhaps ??

I'm fairly certain that the last letter is "e" and that it's in the hand of Babe Ruth.. ;-)

Honestly I think it looks more like it was used as an ink blotter. Seems much like I would do with nibs in school when they taught calligraphy to make sure the ink was flowing correctly.

I swear I am only 50, that statement sounds like I am 75.

Ha! I'm imagining you driving your horseless carriage to school with a handful of nibs.
Seriously, calligraphy is a lost art that should not be lost.
