Default OT: 1931 Tour of Japan Steamer Trunk

I wanted to share pictures of the steamer trunk that was used by Lefty Grove's wife during the 1931 Tour of Japan. Her name was Ethel Gardner Grove. (Lefty's last name was Groves before it was changed by the press in the late 1929's to Grove.... Thus his 1921 Tip Top Bread Baltimore Orioles card has Groves on it....) The steamer trunk was found a few years ago in Lefty's home town of Lonaconing, MD. (Note that Lonaconing is spelled wrong on the trunk.) It is being returned to the Grove family so it can be with Lefty's trunk, which would look very similar to this one that belonged to his wife. The trunk includes several other stickers. One is from Cuba, indicating that this trunk was likely taken on several trips. I hope you enjoy!
