In my quest to catalog these issues, I am looking for pictures of the following posters / supplements and will be forever grateful to anybody who can supply proof of the existence of any of them :
m113 issues : 1914 Athletics Team 1915 Athletics Team William Carrigan Hal Chase Fred Clarke 1915 Braves Team 1913 Giants Team 1915 Phillies Team 1909 Pirates team 1914 Pirates Team Wally Schang Bob Shawkey Jimmy Sheckard Tris Speaker (facing left) 1915 White Sox Team m114 issues : Hank Aaron (DC version) Joe Adcock (DC version) Grover Cleveland Alexander Luis Arroyo Ed Bailey Dave Bancroft Ernie Banks Ed Cicotte Gene Conley Billy Cox Art Fletcher 1954 Giants Team Granny Hamner Rogers Hornsby Al Kaline Bob Keegan Harvey Kuenn Jim Lemon Mickey (or Micky) Mantle Charlie Maxwell Willie Mays (DC version) Mike McCormick Willie Miranda Ray Moore Hal Naragon Bobo Newsom 1916 Phillies Team Jimmy Piersall Arnie Portocarrero 1917 Red Sox Team Frank Robinson Babe Ruth (Red Sox hitting) Ray Schalk Wally Schang 1924 Senators Team Earl Smith Tris Speaker (Conlon photo) Gene Stephens Johnny Temple Virgil Trucks (NL photo) Zach Wheat Jim Wilson For many of the m114 issues there are potentially two posters of a given player, in most cases I have proof of one, but am looking for proof of the other (which might not even exist). As an example, at one point I was looking for proof that the second Mantle existed, and I have since discovered that there is also a third, so currently I'm wondering, is there a fourth? Thank you all in advance, Doug Last edited by doug.goodman; 07-08-2024 at 03:14 PM. |

I have recently been on a deep dive into the Baseball Magazine advertisements for the m113 / m114 posters and have put together a grid of which players were advertised in each issue.
A couple things piqued my curiosity : 1 – In the Sept 1957 issue of the magazine (the last one) eight posters are advertised for the only time : Arroyo Louis Bailey Ed Banks Ernie McMillan Roy Piersall Jimmy Robinson Frank Temple Johnny Boyer Ken I have never seen any of these, which leads me to think there is a chance that they may not have ever been issued. Does anybody have either a picture of, or an example(!) of any of those eight? 2 – In the March 1955 issue, 20 posters were first advertised. 15 of them continuing to be advertised in the remaining 10 issues thru Sept 1957, and I have all 15 of them. But, Gene Connolly, Arnold Portocarrero, James Wilson & Hal Naragon were not advertised in May 1956, or either 1957 issue – and I have never seen any of those posters. Does anybody have either a picture of, or an example(!) of any of those four? I also need this Alexander poster. 20 years on the hunt... Doug Last edited by doug.goodman; 07-08-2024 at 03:15 PM. |

Is this one of the ones that you are looking for? Mark For many of the m114 issues there are potentially two posters of a give player, in most cases I have proof of one, but am looking for proof of the other (which might not even exist. As an example, at one point I was looking for proof that the second Mantle existed, and I have since discovered that there is also a third, so currently I'm wondering, is there a fourth? Thank you Mark.
I have that Fletcher m113, which I believe to have been released in January 1914. The standard catalog also lists a 1917 m114 which I have yet to see. Cox is listed in the catalog as "Billy" with three m114 releases : 1947, 1953 and 1957. Yours (which I also have) was released in December 1947, there is a Dodgers version which came out in July 1950, both as "William". I have yet to see the 1957 release. Hi Gary -
I have that Schalk, although yours is in nicer shape than mine. Yes, that is the Ruth I need. I don't have any kids to give you in trade, and I need both of my arms, but I have other stuff... Doug |

Hi Doug, I recently picked up a Ken Boyer M114 in a lot of mixed ephemera.
Hopefully this is one more off your list.

Doug -
You probably already have images of these, but you asked about each in your original post…so figured it was worth a shot:

Thank you Derek -
I have each of those, but the Standard Catalog lists each of those guys as having a second poster. Hamner is listed as having posters in 1950 & 1957 in the catalog, but my studies of the magazines ads only found advertisements starting in Dec 1950. Kuenn 1954 & 1957 in the catalog, March 1955 & June 1956 start dates in ads Sauer 1950 & 1955 in the catalog, Dec 1950 start of ads So there might be a second poster out there of each of them. Doug |

This post is identical to the first post in this thread, except the list has been updated to reflect the 6 posters that I have found proof of since I made that original post one year ago today.

I also believe this is the 1912 Giants, but if issued in 1913 after being NL Champs l, could count as 1913 Giants in the set? I also had one in similar style of 1912 Red Sox.

Thank you Cody.
I have that Wheat, I'm still looking for this caption variation version. Note the placement of the captions in relationship to the picture. That Giants m113 is a picture of the 1909 team that I believe was released in Sept 1912, here is a less trimmed one. Doug Last edited by doug.goodman; 07-15-2024 at 09:44 PM. |

Derek posted a Sauer m114 back in January that ended up being one that I already had, but I found the other Sauer on ebay last week, along with a Brooks Lawrence that was on my list.
