Poll: Barry Bonds
Sure like most things Bonds related, this has been touched on before. But I was just wondering what the consensus re: the investment (yes, that horrible word) value of Bonds cards and memorabilia. Every time his name comes up there is a strong reaction by many.

I think there are a couple of things to unwind here, specifically between his cards and memorabilia.
His early cards came out in the heart of the junk wax era and therefore hold little chance of increasing in value over the years. There's just too many of them in high grades to have any real value. On the other hand, Barry has not exactly made a habit of hitting the autograph shows, so I do see some potential in his memorabilia and autographs, especially when he gets elected to the HOF. Personally, I'm not a Bonds fan, but as we get further and further away from his playing days, his career stats will remain in place, but his 'roid use and surly demeanor will fade in the minds of collectors and HOF voters.
