GENERAL EDWARD D. TOWNSEND Full page handwritten letter dated March 13th 1866 and is written to Admiral Charles H. Davis of the US Navy. Measures 5x8. Adjutant General of the United States Army from 1869 to 1880. In 1861, then-Lieutenant Colonel Townsend was the first to propose the idea for the Medal of Honor. He died in 1893. $250.00
GENERAL WILLIAM FRANKLIN Heavy stock 2x3 card on which he has signed and also listed his rank. Matted with a vintage magazine photo to an overall size of 8x10. United States Army officer and a Union Army general in the American Civil War. He rose to the rank of a corps commander in the Army of the Potomac, fighting in several notable battles in the Eastern Theater of the Civil War. He also distinguished himself as a civil engineer before and after the war. He died in 1903. $175.00

Halleck served as the General-in-Chief of the Armies of the United States from 1862 to 1864, and then became Chief of Staff for the remainder of the war when Ulysses S.
