Default Wrote a Book on the Life of Dots Miller

My latest book came out today for sale on Amazon through a publisher who has put up 30 of his own books, as well as my last book. I wrote about Dots Miller, who put in 12 years in the majors, debuting as a rookie with the 1909 Pirates, while also seeing time with the Cardinals and Phillies. I have ten relatives in common with Dots, while also sharing the same hometown. I went into as much detail as I could find during his career and his life off of the field, in case you wanted to know how I spent my entire summer, plus some fall time.

Thank you, gentlemen. I'm from the same town as Dots, plus I have those relatives in common and the Pirates connection, so the first day of sales went great. I debuted at #20 on Amazon's top baseball books

Thank you. Had to post it here with Dots being in some of the most popular sets on this board. The front cover was supposed to have his T206 and Cracker Jack cards, but it didn't work well with the Forbes Field background, so the T206 card ended up on the back.

I figured most people here knew him from one of those sets, if not the T205 error or the "big glove" caramel/candy card with all of those variations.

Thanks for letting us know, I look forward to reading it instead of watching the Super Bowl...

The only Super Bowl I'll be watching is whenever the food is served until whenever I'm done eating. I do like the Puppy Bowl though...

Nice collection and thanks for the purchase. I actually saw that scan recently on Twitter and didn't realize it was you. I just followed back. I need to get a scan of all of my Dots cards together at some point. I have two different displays and one is a little crowded now. I can share the three rarest ones I have though. I also have a pin that I've never seen a second copy of, but don't have a good scan of that one.

Didn't want to start a new post, so I figured I'd bump this one instead. The Dots book is my passion project due to the connections (Pirates, hometown, family) to Miller. I do have two other recent books, including one that came out today.

It's a prospect guide for the Pittsburgh Pirates system. A group project between seven writers. Besides helping with the set-up of the book, I also contributed four short stories about the Pirates building their team over the years, with mentions of Clemente and Wagner, as well as an attempt back in 1884 to have minor league teams in the same city as the big league club. That story has basically been lost to history. Anyway, if you like prospect guides, this is the book for you. Great for any Pirates fans. There are seven history short stories total in the book. This one is also available on Kindle
