1964 Topps Mickey Mantle #50 w/teardrop tattoo printing flaw - Ends Sun 1/7 @8pm CST
This week I have four lots of vintage cards, all involving the 1964 Topps baseball set, and including Hall of Fame greats Mantle, Banks, Kaline, Killebrew and more
This lot consists of a 1964 Topps #50 card of Hall of Fame great Mickey Mantle. This card has a printing flaw (not paper damage) on Mantle's cheek that looks suspiciously like a prison teardrop tattoo. If nothing else it does make him look badass. He has another print flaw on his wrist, which just makes him look like he went a little too far to intimidate his fellow inmates. The card has pen writing in four different spots on the front (I guess one indication of his lineup batting order was just insufficient), but it is upstaged by a larger volume of penmanship on the back. Otherwise pretty fresh looking card for a fellow having done some time in the (grand) slammer. It does have an upper left corner crease. Minimum opening bid is $1 for this and my other 3 lots of 1964 cards, and the bidding increment should be in whole dollars. Bids with a time stamp of 8:00 pm CST on closing night or earlier are valid, anything after that is considered an unsuccessful bid. The shipping if you win one of my auctions this week will be $4.00, for two it will also be $4.00 total. Win 3 or 4 auctions and the shipping will be FREE.
