This attractive photographic print features a team photo of the 1912 World Champion Boston Reds Sox superimposed upon a large panoramic image of a game in progress at Fenway Park. (Please Note: Small photographic reproductions of this piece are often misidentified as dating from 1912. The reproductions were distributed by the Red Sox at a commemorative event, we believe in 1962 in honor of the 50th anniversary of the 1912 Championship season. This large display piece is an original from 1912.) The top portion of the piece features an illustrated banner reading "1912" alongside individual portrait photos of manager Jake Stahl, team captain Heinie Wagner, and team president James McAleer. Included among the twenty-six team members pictured in the foreground are Harry Hooper, Tris Speaker, Joe Wood, Bill Carrigan, Eddie Cicotte, Duffy Lewis, Jake Stahl, Hugh Bedient, Larry Gardner, and Steve Yerkes. Each player is identified in print directly below his respective image. The caption "Boston-American League Champions-1912" is printed along the base. The photographer's credit, "Glines Panoramic Photo Co., 523 Washington Street, Boston, Mass.," appears in the lower left corner. The photographic print (26.25 x 9.75 inches; visible dimensions) displays light water staining along the entire base and is otherwise in apparent. Excellent condition. This is both a rare and visually attractive wall display commemorating the first of Boston's four World Championships from the decade. Framed to total dimensions of 28.25 x 11.5 inches.
