Default 1939 W711-1 Lee Gamble - Cincinnati Reds - Ends Sunday 6/25 @ 8pm CST

This week we have three cards for the Cincinnati Reds fan in you, all from the W711-1 set. For this auction you are bidding on a 1939 W711-1 card of Lee Gamble. It is from the 1939 issue of this set, and not from the 1938 issue, due to the line in the write-up on back that indicates Lee was 'at Syracuse in 1937'. The same line on his card from the 1938 issue indicates he was 'at Syracuse last year'.

The card has several heavier, mostly horizontal creases (just in case you care about your card's creasing orientation). It does have three pinholes at top center to top right, and a pen mark on bottom border. Still the card retains a nice image of Mr. Gamble, who did NOT hold the record for most home runs (38) by a National League player in a rookie season (1930, tied by Frank Robinson in 1956) for a whopping 87 years! That of course would instead be Wally Berger, main suspect in another one of my W711-1 auctions this week.

Minimum opening bid is $1 for each of the 3 lots I have up this week in this auction category, and the bidding increment should be in whole dollars. The shipping if you win one lot will be $4.50, for two lots it will also be $4.50 total. Win all 3 lots and the shipping is FREE.

All cards will be shipped in a padded envelope. Personal check or Paypal accepted.

Good Luck!

Brian

Elevating Gamble's status within the hierarchy of this auction category.
