Great badge!
I'm a little behind on my posts. I'll start with a dash/diamond/dash J F Hillerich and Son bat I just got. It's 35" long and 37 ozs. The wood is dark and possibly hickory. Uncracked and in fine condition. It is the "Trademark" version and probably dates from 1894-1896. |

Picked up this very cool NFL toy box at a tag sale this morning. Also found this Mets pinback that I can't locate on the interwebs. Common or tough?

A big shout out to fellow Net54'er "edtiques." While beating the bushes (much deeper than I ever do), Ed found this from AbeBooks, a SF independent bookstore. They were selling it for Bolerium Books, a tiny SF bookstore specializing in books and ephemera from various social movements...gay, communist, black, labor, etc. Bolerium is in a third floor suite and open by appointment. Say what you want about those radicals but the customer service was outstanding! "Watch what you say, they'll be calling you a radical; a liberal, fanatical, criminal."

Some great pickups guys and we're only 6 days into March.
My 1956 Oak Premier Card Vending machine arrived today. The right-side glass broke during shipping but I think I can get that replaced pretty easily. The rest of the machine is really clean and works well. I just need to put some 1956T cards in the machine and get some gumballs. :-)

I am fortunate to have acquired the original "Pride of the Yankees" award presented to Lefty Gomez in 1987 by George Steinbrenner at the Yankees Homecoming banquet April 16 of that year. It consists of the original metal die cast plate that was used for the front page and a print of the front page signed by Willie Mays and several other Hall of Fame players. A pretty cool piece.

Won this nice RPPC at LOTG...since I had the matching type 1 photo it made sense. This was during the White Sox spring training in Mineral Wells, TX in 1916. The other player is "Hickey" and I have tried to determine exactly who he was with no luck.

my vintage baseball collecting has been pretty quiet for the last year, largely in part to the fact that i have been helping my daughter build her game used stick collection... her latest: a 1990 cam neely gamer signed and dated to 1990, from the collection of long time flyers PA announcer Lou Nolan

Two new arrivals today; Yankee Stadium and the Polo Grounds. Both postally unused.
The Polo Grounds one is a bit worn around the edges and I already had a black ink version, but how can you let a vintage postcard with John McGraw pass by you without buying it? |

If anyone has any information about the decals (or how to get repop decals) used on the Oak Premier machines, I'd be interested. The only thing about my machine that I'd like to improve is the decal on the glass.

Picked up this 1946 Feller All-Stars Barnstorming Program. The back page is missing, but the program is beautifully scored. There is a newspaper article about the game taped into it, and the person wrote the date Oct 7, 1946 in it. This is one of the earlier versions of the program which has a white cover. Later examples (ones printed for later games) had an all orange cover.
The listing only had the front page and the scorecard page, so it was a cool surprise to see the ticket stub taped into the program behind the newspaper article. The scorecard is filled out including Paige in the game, though the newspaper clipping does not show him. The Paige All-Stars had Artie Wilson, Henry Thompson, Quincy Trouppe, Howard Easterling, Buck O'Neil etc. The Feller team had Phil Rizzutto, Bob Lemon etc. The Feller All-Stars won the majority of the games of the series, though the Paige All-Stars won this one. |

A couple of additions to my low end Giants collection...a tray with the SF Chronicle headline after they beat the Dodgers in the 1962 NL Playoff...shown with matching mug and a mug with the SF Examiner headline...there is also a glass candy dish and pennant with the Examiner headline. The Examiner headline was better but the Chronicle mug is of better quality. They were sold at Bullock and Jones, a SF store that had been around since the Gold Rush days.
I also picked up a Wine List from the Francisco Grande. The Giants owned the resort and trained there from 1961-79. I have a ton of Francisco Grande stuff.

I picked up this autographed 1921 photo of Tommy Melton. Tommy won the Indy 500 in 1921 and 1923. He set the land speed record in the Duesenberg pictured in 1920. Unfortunately, he committed suicide 1962.
