What company made the 1941 Double Play cards?

Gum, Inc was the Warren Bowman company that made gum in the 30s. They also made the Playball series of cards. 1941s Double Play cards are listed as being distributed by Gum Products, Inc, though I have found some places where the are listed as distributed by Gum, Inc. Does anyone here know if Gum Products Inc and Gum Inc the same or different companies? I might think it odd that Bowman would produce two baseball sets in the same year, but he was an innovative guy.

I figured it out. Gum Products, Inc was a different company, located in Cambridge, Mass, while Gum, Inc. was in Philadelphia.

Gum Products Inc., also made the 1956 "Adventure" set.

Gum Products, Inc. was eventually purchased by Moxie and stayed in business until 1980. I'm thinking about doing a book about baseball cards on the verge or world war...just pretty much for funsies. I wonder if there was a relationship between National Chicle and Gum Products, Inc as both were in Cambridge Mass.

This has been the subject of discussion on these boards before. The other major set Gum Products issued was the non-sport set "Zoom," featuring numerous types of planes. The first (and most common) series of "Zoom" was issued in 1941, featured sepia-toned photos, and was precisely the same size as Doubleplay. A great nonsport set, by the way.
