Default How did this NOT get an OC grade?

How did this not get an OC? And what do you think it’s worth considering it’s centering?

It'll sell as whatever it says on the label. Slabbed cards have now become a fungible commodity because that's what buyers/traders of slabs want. They're trading the label, not the card. As they say, that ship has sailed.

I believe before PSA changed their rules you could request a qualifier and get the true grade with the qualifier or be docked grades and not have one. For example you could have a sharp looking centered 7 (st) with a wax stain but if you didn't want a qualifier it would be a 5 no qualifier.

Most psa old labels are 1 or 2 grades more compared to what they would get today. If what I'm saying was true and I'm not insane, that mantle would probably be a 5 oc or a 3 or 4 no Q today. (Just saying that as an example, I think they stopped this years back)

Apparently 80/20 is the centering limit for a PSA 6.

Not 100% sure it meets that standard, but maybe it’s kinda close?

All I know is that professional grading will settle EVERYTHING. They told me that back in the 1900s.

I thought that type of settling was reserved for dueling with pistols.

It is a very old label and looks like it meets the 80/20 minimum centering requirement for a 6.

It didn't get an OC qualifier because the centering isn't "bad" enough, considering the grade.

Two similar copies have sold recently (past 30 days) on eBay for $4,500 and $4,300. The $4,300 sale was earlier this week.

Funny. That's what I heard too. These rumours get around I guess.

As earlier mentioned, it falls within the centering criteria for the grade.
