Default E121 Cobb Batting

Sorry guys if this has been covered to death but has anyone posted a thread discussing the common horizontal print defect on the E121 Cobb batting card?

I hadn't seen that one before until recently, there are also some common vertical scratches on some of the other E121's, Sisler, Hornsby, Wood, to name a few.

As Phil mentioned, the Smoky Joe Wood has a very prominent vertical print line to the right of his body, and it is the one that always comes to my mind when thinking of print flaw E121 cards.

Below on the left is an example, not mine, that showcases this flaw, which I believe is on every copy of his E121 card that I have seen. I also included a partial W575-1 card that is interesting in that it does not have this flaw. I know I have also seen W575-1 Wood cards with the vertical line.

Interesting. I know there are Cobbs with and without the defect but I can't say I have seen a Wood without that line.

Nice to see both without the printing flaws...those lines are distracting, especially the one on the Wood card.

And Phil, a real nice Cobb. I like this batting pose of him a lot.

Thanks Brian, I prefer the batting pose over the pitching poses too. Same image as his 14CJ.

Same pose as in the W501. Poor man's Cracker Jack, I suppose.
