I have some raws I want graded, because I know it will add to the value. Mainly a Lundgren Piedmont 150 Chicago AND a Demmitt St Louis……my question is, PSA or SGC?

My guess is the first question most people will ask is if you plan to sell or keep the cards. If the plan is to sell the cards, then PSA is probably the way to go. I'm not a big PSA fan so if you're planning to just hold on to them, then SGC isn't a bad way to go. I like the way that SGC slabs the cards, they look nice in the holders (black insert surrounds the card).

From an investment standpoint: go SGC if lower grade (A-2.5) and go PSA if higher grade (3+)
From a collector’s standpoint: SGC all the way! Good luck James FYI, SGC has done a great job for me over the last year on 14 of 15 submissions. They did screw one sub up and refused to admit their fault, cost me $90, I will live. And as for PSA, I sent one submission their way in Feb 2021……… and I can’t say how they did, cause I’m still waiting for the grades and cards, No Joke! ![]() |

I think both your opinions are correct! I appreciate the feedback. The Demmitt will probably be a 3 at best, Lundgren is 2 at the best. My one experience with PSA was trash, and SGC actually followed up on a question I had the other day. Their presentation is also better in my opinion.

For vintage cards, SGC is the better of the 2.

Great question- if you a) want the best chance for them to be evaluated
correctly and b) to receive them before the Apocalypse, it's SGC ![]() Trent King |

PSA to add value. The others are lagging behind..

As you can see it's been a mixed bag of opinions thus far.
For the cards that you mention though I would go SGC for now. Two reasons. 1. Psa's turn around time although better than it was this time last year, is still far too long to wait. 2. Most importantly though, Psa has been very inconsistent with their grading this past year. Until they get their Sh!% together I won't be sending them a thing. |
