Hi All:
Hope everyone is doing well. Just a reminder that the Love of the Game Spring Auction is closing tonight. Extended bidding begins at 9pm EDT, and the Double OT begins at 1AM. Lots of great items included in this auction, but I did want to draw people's attention to the outstanding signed Exhibit cards we are offering, as it seems like there are still a lot of affordable but scarce ones there. I do love those beautiful old fountain pen signatures! Also, we've got a 520-card T206 set and a nearly complete T205 Master Set in this one, along with several other great prewar sets. And of course, we're fully-loaded with prewar HOFers and memorabilia. If you've got some time, please do check it out: https://bid.loveofthegameauctions.com/Lots/Gallery Thanks, and good luck to all who are bidding or consigning. Best, -Al |

Al Crisafulli and his fantastic auction offerings are the reason I haven't remodeled my kitchen yet.

Funny you should say that. I gave Al a 1915 Cracker Jack Joe Jackson to auction several years back and used the proceeds to pay for a sorely needed kitchen renovation. Never mind the fact that the same card today would pay for adding a new wing to the house, the new kitchen is swell and has been a grand place to endure the pandemic. My wife loves Joe Jackson.

It could be "Al the Kitchen" Crisafulli! His wife might have an issue with something like "Al the Bedroom" Crisafulli. Hope I don't get slapped off stage!

I was fortunate enough to add these two e92 Dockmans to my collection. I understand this is a small set and doesn't carry the same cache' as some other sets of this period but man, they are not easy to find in decent condition as the hobby may think.
Congrats to everyone who was able to add to their collections! |

You pick up any of the photos for your new folders? I picked up the bugs Raymond photo used for the turkey. Bugs is a VERY tough type 1 photo- not many and DEF not many good ones.

Stick stick Al stick.
[The foregoing comment will be incomprehensible to many but Al will get it. Harkens back to a mystery from an old LOTG auction]. Terrific Bugs Raymond photo, Ben. Had my eye on it. Encapsulates the excellence and the tragedy of that tortured man.

Super auction, Al. I only managed to snare one of the many snazzy Eddie Collins items, but I really enjoyed this one.

The other strong HOFers have been creeping up as well. I'd like to see what some of the other RCs and scarcer cards go for in this market. On the postwar side, the Jackie Robinson thing continues with an SGC 5 getting $660. Robinson was a $50-$75 card several years ago.

Many of the big name 1920's Exhibits have pops of less than 20 in all grades. And when you get to the mid-grades EX ish and up, the pops are miniscule. Good to see strong prices.

Yeah, I was very pleased to see the Jackie Robinson SGC 5 go so high, as I consigned it, along with the SGC 5 Mays Portrait, and the SGC 6.5 Mantle Batting "CK" not connected. I thought that Mays would fetch $120, but it went for $180. Very pleased to work with Al and Andrew over at LOTG. They do a fantastic job!!

I picked up a number of these. Most excited with the Eastern Exhibit Hornsby though I know I overpaid a bit. Excited to finally pick up a 1921 Johnson ... love the registration of the front photo ... though I always forget that with SGC critical to check the back. In this case looks like I missed a MK. Oh well.
Anyway, given the low pops, the quality of photography, and lack of mainstream mid to late 20s issues I see a lot of upside. I just hope the broader move waits until I complete my eastern exhibits set :-) |

There should be a direct PayPal link in your invoice.
