1941 Dominican V Puerto Rican Series Autograph album

I picked this album up from a board member at the Nation and have been researching and translating it since - it is a project that has gotten put on the back burner a couple of times since the Summer. The Album was created by one of the players on the Puerto Rican team by the name of Pedro M Clara. Clara was a speedy infielder who led the Puerto Rican league in triples a couple of times in the 1940’s. The album was created during the April 1941 series. The extravagant 1937 Dominican baseball season had basically bankrupted the league and only small exhibition series were held until the 1950’s. These series still displayed some great talent as the 1941 games featured Satchel Paige, Chet Brewer, Pedro Cepeda and Juan Vargas. The album has autographs and also examples of poetry and other remembrances written by Clara. Some of the autographs are as pictured below and include

1. Juan Braganita Garcia - great Dominican player of the 1930-1950’s
2. Radmas Lopez - who was a Puerto Rican great and who name is now honored as the name from the island main little league
3. Javier Blue Perez who played all over the Latin America and in the Negro league
4. Tom Young - a black American who played for the great 1930’s KC Monarch Teams
5. Felix Delgado who played for the New York Cubans
6. Andres Julio Baez - who was one of a trio of Dominican brothers who stared in the 1940
